My life has not followed the socially accepted path. I have dropped out of school several times – including both CEGEP and university – and yet I have learned every single day.

I started training clients at the age of 17 but can say that I really only started to understand what I was doing as of 20. I am 21 years old and I can firmly state that I know more now than I have ever known and what I know is nothing. There is not one teacher, mentor or guru that can honestly say that they know exactly how the body will respond to training and movement patterning.

I have been at CoreXcellence for 14 months. Though the internship started in January, I have set my mind on my ultimate dream.

Since January, I have gone into CoreXcellence everyday that I could, as early as I could and leave as late as possible. Some days it was a simple 9am to 11am and others 730am to 6pm. But whatever it was, I can honestly say that I learned something new. Be it nutrition, training or just bettering myself, I learned and I grew everyday.

They say that you are a culmination of the 5 people closest to you. Between the owners, Rich and Lucas, that is 5 right there. Without them, I would not be who I am today. Without them, I would not have been able to grow. From each of them, I have learned. With each of them, a relationship has been built. We have had our disagreements and our struggles yet, in the end, all of us have grown to be a better person with a grander view on life.

The hours were long and the work was hard (at times) and I would never trade the world for the experiences I have had at CoreXcellence in the past few months.

Though I may have not grown to be the person they wish me to be or have grown past what they expected of me, I can truly say that I was blessed to have met the guys at CoreXcellence.

With the internship wrapping up on Tuesday and another 100 pages to read, take notes on and present Tuesday afternoon, I can say that, without a doubt, if I am to leave CoreXcellence, I will walk away a very different man than when I walked in. Though I hope to stay and learn and grow along-side them, I can say that I will walk away with a different outlook on training and work ethic. I can say that I will become a great trainer because of them. I can say that I will always understand how to prioritize my work with clients as well as myself.

This blog is not to buy your vote or theirs, but to allow you to understand how amazing the experience is at CoreXcellence. I have never been to a gym with a more positive vibe. I have never been to a gym with such a motivating atmosphere. When you see the other trainers, other strength coaches, reading and progressing themselves day in, day out, it makes you want to strive to do that much more. It makes you realize how little you actually know and how little you can do. Yet the clients see you as miracle workers.

The owners will ground you and allow you to realize how much you know. They will show you how to take advantage of what you know. And teach you without question. All you need to do is show up.

But the biggest take away, I find, is that I have been humbled. Not because of what they know and how little I know, but because of their demeanor. They do not feel as if they know more than you for they can learn too. And if you can realize that you will be able to teach them something, though you might only notice they know more than you, if you notice them learning from you, that is how humble they are. They do not discount your opinion but welcome it. They will learn till the day they pass on the reins. That is my biggest take away. I have been humbled and have made it my duty to work harder since the internship started. I have become a better man, when I walked in a year ago as a boy.

Weight Loss – The Quick Fix For Lasting Results
Apr 2012 24

I can promise you that the results seen on this can last you a lifetime. I guarantee that you will not look soft or earn being called skinny fat.

And you might be saying ‘But Aaron, you always advocate hard work and lifting heavy’. Yeah, well I’m just here to put things into perspective for you…

I have friends who have fat friends. Seriously, I do – they’re huge. Yet they always complain about fat loss. One week one Atkins, the next week on Weight Watchers and so on. Eventually they’ll hit the outskirts of dieting and go crazy eating only carbs on Tuesdays and only 100grams of carbs every 2nd Saturday.

What they don’t realize is that if you don’t stick to something, you won’t see the results. But with the diet crazes, you walk away weak and with little to no knowledge of nutrition. Many of you will walk away looking ill or weak, and almost all of y’all come away looking soft. Isn’t strong the new sexy? Don’t you want sick looking arms, a lean stomach and a flat stomach with some definition?

How much time do you spend on your diet crazes? How many weeks do you spend jumping from one diet to the next? Figure it out. I know the number is ridiculous for the amount of people who diet and how many weeks each diet lasts, but then again, I don’t care for numbers. If you try 12 diets a year at 3 weeks each, that’s 36 weeks of dieting a year. 9 months of dieting. And you can’t get results after 9 months of dieting? What the fuck are you doing wrong?

In 9 months, you should be at or well on your way to your ideal weight and body look.

Need more incentive? Or is the fat motivation enough?
